Collective Worship

Christ is at the centre of all of our thoughts and actions and because of this, Collective Worship is a much-valued part of life at St Richard’s. We gather together in classes, phases or as a whole school to worship daily. thus allowing children, staff, parents and parishioners to come together to know, serve and love God. By listening to and reflecting upon the Word of God, we allow the messages of the Bible to shape our lives so that we can develop and nurture a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus.

Additional Class Celebrations of the Word will take place at the end of each Come and See Unit and is used as an opportunity for ‘Liturgical Education’ where adults model to children how to plan and lead worship.

Feast Days & Special Celebrations

In addition to our weekly acts of worship, we also celebrate important liturgical feast days with special whole school Masses and other liturgies, including Remembrance, All Saints Day, Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Lent, Easter, Ascension and Pentecost.

We also share special Services of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent as part of our preparation for the great feasts of Christmas and Easter.

Parents and the parish are always welcome to attend these celebrations and share in our prayer and liturgical life.

To further extend our welcome to families, each class invites parents and carers in to ‘Stay and Pray’. This is a lovely time for the children to share a prayerful experience with their loved ones and families.
